Joy and Sorrow

To have joy when another has joy - not just happiness or satisfaction - but true and pure joy is not so complicated. It is sometimes even involuntary, as the spirit of joy tends to effortlessly increase itself.

To sorrow when one sorrows.

What is inherent in this is sacred. This is the product of intimate spiritual connections with those around you. To feel so much hope for someone else and to really love them as you love yourself, is only true if you do feel their pain.

Dreamer

The smear of sunset's clouds in my eyes
I hear the birds' cheer
as feathery wind brushes my skin
Smell the creaminess of the plumeria
Taste the salt air as if it were my own breath
Below me,
pocked cement drowned in furry moss
My hands hold the line of the horizon
As the daisies smile into the cooling water

Doesn't It Sometimes Feel Like This?
